The British Columbia government has committed $55 million to four venture capital funds in the hopes the funds, and their partners, will invest much more than that in venture companies in the province.

The money is part of the $90-million B.C. Renaissance Capital Fund announced in 2008, aimed at helping fund B.C. startups in information technology, life sciences, digital media and clean technology.

Under the terms of the offering, Westport issued and sold 4,500,000 Common Shares for an aggregate sale price of US$54 million (US$12.00 per Common Share). Westport currently expects to use the net proceeds from the offering of US$50.6 million (before expenses) for product development, market development and general corporate purposes.

October 2, 2007 - VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA – Sierra Wireless, Inc. (NASDAQ: SWIR, TSX: SW) today announced that it has successfully closed its previously announced bought deal common share offering of 3,500,000 common shares at a price of US$22.40 per share. Under the offering, which included 300,000 shares issuable upon the exercise by the underwriters of the over-allotment option, Sierra Wireless sold 3,800,000 common shares from treasury. Gross proceeds of this offering will be US$85.1 million. The syndicate of underwriters was led by CIBC World Markets Inc.

September 19, 2007 - Vancouver, British Columbia – Sierra Wireless, Inc. (NASDAQ: SWIR, TSX: SW) announced today that it has entered into a binding bought deal agreement with a syndicate of underwriters led by CIBC World Markets Inc. and including Piper Jaffray & Co. and RBC Capital Markets to raise gross proceeds of US$78.4 million from the sale of 3,500,000 common shares in the United States and Canada at a price of US$22.40 per share (the “Offering”).
