Contec develops and markets Hornet, a software platform to accelerate the rollout of mobile data services. Hornet has been deployed at three provincial operations of a major Chinese mobile operator. Contec has also launched the beta release of BUZmob, a new publishing service for mobilizing Internet news, business information, weather, sports, entertainment and user-generated content.
BUZmob provides content publishers with a simple, web-based solution to deliver feed-based digital information to mobile users on any device, on any network, anywhere - without requiring the end-user to download software or to subscribe to any service. Currently, over 50 content publishers, including websites, blogs and services, have gone mobile using our ad-driven BUZmob service.

One of Hornet's main value propositions is "rapid application development and deployment". One of the restricting factors in releasing new products and services is the inherent risk of introducing third party applications, which may over-consume network resources or in other ways interfere with applications hosted in the same environment. The beauty of using the Hornet solution is operators do not need to certify applications, as these applications are encapsulated using Contec's patent-pending Sandbox technology. As such applications cannot harm the network or other applications residing on the same Hornet.
