iamota Helps Brands, Agencies and Organizations of All Sizes Access, Interact with and Sell to Mobile Consumers

VANCOUVER, British Columbia - February 7, 2008 - iamota, a Mobile Application Service Provider (MASP) that helps brands, agencies and organizations of all sizes access, interact with and sell to mobile consumers, today announced it has completed a seed round of $1 million in funding from seed investors and the management team.

iamota's efforts to reclaim Canadian talent started today with the addition of Mary Lou Hardy as executive vice president, marketing and business development. After nine years of working in the US, most recently as Director of Global Marketing with AOL Mobile's B2B division in Seattle, Hardy moved back to Vancouver to join iamota's leadership team.

"iamota's aggressive and unique positioning in this rapidly growing mobile segment attracted me to come back to Vancouver to drive iamota's commercialization efforts," said Hardy.

"Mary Lou brings more than 20 years of wireless and marketing experience along with invaluable insights and relationships in the global mobile industry," said Pete Smyth, president, CEO and founder of iamota. "Attracting a high caliber executive like Mary Lou to our leadership team validates iamota's market timing and opportunities for success within the mobile marketing, messaging and payment segments."

Similar to the adoption of the Internet during the 90's, consumers are influencing brands to adopt mobile as a new channel for communications, marketing, service delivery and payment. Internet adoption started in the ?90s with brands providing basic information, which quickly evolved into service delivery, marketing and e-commerce. The same phenomenon and adoption curve is unfolding in the mobile world today as consumers are demanding information and media whenever and wherever they need it. As a result, brands are looking for innovative ways to access, interact with and sell to this increasingly mobile consumer base.

"One of the reasons I am passionate about iamota, is the sheer number of companies who intend to market and sell their products, or reach consumers through text and mobile messaging," said Hardy. "In February 2007, the Mobile Marketing Association conducted a survey and discovered that approximately 89 percent of major brands are planning to market their products to mobile consumers by 2008. This is really exciting, as we have a unique solution set and understanding of the mobile channel."
