QLT Inc. is a global biopharmaceutical company dedicated to the discovery, development and commercialization of innovative therapies. Our research and development efforts are focused on pharmaceutical products in the fields of ophthalmology and dermatology. In addition, we utilize two unique technology platforms, photodynamic therapy and Atrigel®, to create products such as Visudyne® and Eligard®.

COMMERCIALIZED PRODUCTS
Visudyne® (verteporfin) for the treatment of wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD), pathologic myopia and presumed ocular histoplasmosis. Launched in 2000, Visudyne therapy is approved in over 75 countries.

Eligard® (leuprolide acetate) for the palliative treatment of advanced prostate cancer was launched in 2002. Eligard has been approved in North America and a number of European Union countries, as well as Australia, New Zealand and certain Latin American countries with applications pending in other countries.

AczoneTM (dapsone) gel 5% for the treatment of mild to moderate acne is appproved in the U.S. and Canada.

Photofrin®, the world's first approved photodynamic therapy drug used in the treatment of various cancers. Before selling the rights to Photofrin to Axcan Pharma Inc. on June 8, 2000, QLT received a number of worldwide approvals for Photofrin for various cancerous conditions.

COLLABORATIONS
QLT has an exclusive worldwide co-development agreement with Novartis Ophthalmics, the eye health unit of Novartis Pharma AG. QLT manufacturers Visudyne, while Novartis Ophthalmics markets and distributes the product worldwide.

QLT and Novartis Ophthalmics collaborate with Lumenis Ltd. and Carl Zeiss Group for the supply of lasers used in conjunction with Visudyne therapy.

Through its wholly owned subsidiary, QLT USA, Inc., QLT has agreements with the following:
* Pfizer Inc. has been granted broad-based access to QLT's Atrigel drug delivery technologies in exchange for future product royalties and manufacturing rights.
* Sanofi-Synthelabo Inc. with which QLT has an exclusive North American marketing agreement for Eligard.
* Astellas Pharma Inc., which markets the Eligard one-, three- and four-month formulations in Europe.
* MediGene AG, with which QLT has an exclusive European marketing agreement for the Eligard six-month formulation.
* Mayne Pharma PTY. Ltd. which holds the marketing rights for Eligard six-month formulation in Australia and New Zealand.
