Vancouver, Canada, March 3, 2008 – Zymeworks Inc. today announced that it is has closed a $1.3
million round of financing from private investors. Zymeworks has now successfully raised $3.5 million
from angel investors in three rounds of financing. In conjunction with the financing, the Company has
also announced that Mr. Amos Michelson will join the Company's Board of Directors.

& CEO of Zymeworks Inc. “This investment will facilitate the further development of the ZymeCAD™
platform and accelerate development activities towards our protein-therapeutics pipeline.”

equipment company, and COO of Optrotech Ltd., a developer and manufacturer of optical and
imaging systems for the electronics industry. Amos is a past member of the British Columbia Premier’s
Technology Council. In 1999, together with Dan Gelbart (co-founder of Creo Inc.), he was named an
Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® and in 2005 was recognized as the British Columbia
Technology Industry Association’s “Person of the Year”. Amos holds an MBA from the Stanford
Business School and a BSEE from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, and serves on the boards
